I mean, when did 45 become the new 65!?
Today. Today is when that happened and I am NOT happy about it.
I DIDN'T have my fleece on for maybe 45 whole minutes while at school today. I am always cold. I've been cold since at least October and I am DONE.
Then this afternoon I walked outside and was hit with warmth. Unexpected warmth. The sunshine was so bright it instantly warmed my face and I was so calm and happy.
And then I was angry.
And then the thought hit me: when did 45 become the new 65!? It was 45 degrees and I was enjoying it! 45 degrees is NOT warm. I am through with this! And Wednesday were are supposed to get a bunch more snow.
My husband thinks I'm kidding when I suggest we move south.
I love your comparison of age to temperature. I agree with you. I have always loathed the idea of the "wind chill factor" and "heat index." Just seems to give people something more to complain about.
ReplyDeleteSpring is coming though! Daylight savings helped me a lot!
I agree with your daylight savings comment. Seeing light outside at 7:55 last night was definitely a wonderful feeling :)
DeleteIt's a common sentiment in our neck of the woods, and while I agree with you that I want genuine warmth, I'll take what I can get. Love the unexpected play on age metaphor.
ReplyDeleteMy slice is very similar today. It looks like we get another day of this wonderful heat wave, before we lose out to snow on Wednesday. Grrrr...I am over the cold, too!!!! Bring on spring break!
ReplyDeleteI had to read it over again because it took me a minute to register that you weren't talking about age. I chalk it up to my brain being scrambled by these crazy roller coaster temps and it being Monday. :-) Great slice!
ReplyDeleteI know the answer--in 2014! I opened my sunroof today (it was 50) and on another day a couple of weeks ago when it was 38-----and it felt g-o-o-d! But we have a winter storm watch going into effect tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you when it comes to being over it! I did use this time to enjoy a little time outside with no coat. It was blissful!
ReplyDeleteI was ready for an age related slice, thinking it sounded a little backward. :) I hear you! It's like gas - when it's under $3.50 I get excited! It's all relative I guess. I like the style...you were warmed by sunshine and so happy, only for the next line to read that you were angry. Good slice!
ReplyDeleteWhen is the last time everyone was so excited that we had 45 degree weather in March? Last time I remember was when people complained that we had no winter this year again (obviously not talking about 2014). Maybe we can deal with the snow now that we have seen the sun and peeks of grass again; let our coat stay open for more than a few seconds, and aired the inside of our cars. May I please use your post at school?
ReplyDeleteYes you can use my post! Thank you for your comments :)
